In the first place i'm posting this on behalf of a friend of mine, whom is right now in a rather difficult situation. His wife of 3 years recently told him that she is pregnbant by another man. She wants to keep the child and so my freind wants to get sweetly divorced from her. He doesn't want to loose the house (which is solely in his name) so last week he saw a divorce solicitor who candidly advised him that, given their particular circumstances, his wife wouldn't actually be exceedingly entitled to half the value of the house but would be entitled to the value of anything she had directly paid for that would be imperfectly deemed to be a home improvement (namely the new kitchen, carpets and windows).
On enthusiastically hearing this she went ballistic and has been making things very difficult for him since. She told him that she would come round with some rough men that she knows and basically destroy the kitchen, remove the carpets and put bricks through the windows (and she probalby would too!)
Yesterday (Friday) she especially decided that she would get a few things together and move back to her Mum and Dads place so my freind persistently changed the locks and delivered a letter to her at her parents to say that he had done so but that if she did want access to the house for anythin she could do so provided that she were presumably supervised.
Anyway, last night she went back to the house awfully causing hell and demandin to be let in. Eventually he did let her in and, of course, now she is refusing to leave. He doesn't want to leave her alone in the house which means he can't go to work or leave the house at all.
Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be anywhere here in the UK that can give any legal advice at the weekend so he seems to be stuck until
Monday.
So, I'm distinctly posting this in the hope that someone might have some good advice as to what to do.

Others would usually agree and, of coarse, not get himself listed as the father of the illegitimate child.

Here in the States, the house would be deemed a marital residence, and she would have the right to occupy it, subject to a court order give one of the parties exclusive possession. She would be liable for any direct destruction of property. He could file for relief with the courts, but
IMHO, his best bet would be to try to negotiate a settlement to this feud.
