nooo...A(his ex) was with B(the one i'm talking to)....C(the girl) was with D(the boy)...

A,B,C,D are all friends with each other....A was comforting C while doing D....and D was comforting B while doing A...

Well, that sounds messy.
At least your ex wasn't a "comforter".

You should take things slowly though because I see yourself in a similar "comfort" position.

Yea. I guess. I don't know sometimes I would rather be friends and not risk him being with him and when his over his resentment to back with her. I'm more the "hey, lets not get hurt and avoid it at all costs" type of person.

Certainly you can date him, but I wouldn't go planning the future with him.

The sad fact is: you may be Rebound Girl.

On the other, you may just be the tonic he needs to heal his broken heart.

Whatever you do, don't go rushing into this relationship. It's too ill defined. I mean, you said you are "like" boyfriend and girlfriend. Well, when it comes to these things, you either are or you aren't.

Take it slow and take it easy. Don't go trying to rush things. As for avoiding hurt feelings and ill will, sadly, it can't be avoided. Like REM tells us: everybody hurts sometime.
