Split up with my boyfriend nearly a month ago, we havent had the time and space apart we both need

He finished with me because he has gone back to university after being home with me for 6 months, and found it too hard juggling everything, he has alot of work to do, along with just being given a DJ set in a club, and said it was too hard and too much for him to come home and give me the attention I deserve. Since the break up we have both had our ups and downs, we both slept with someone, both drunk, both regretted it and we both didnt want contact with these people again. I dont hate him for what he did because I know where hes coming from when he says 'he wishes he didnt' etc. He said to me 'I dont have to justify myself as were not together, but just to let you know I hated it and dont wanna do that again' FAIR ENOUGH.
Over the past month hes rang me crying, tehe loves me etc, We had the first few weweeks of constant arguing and its pushing us apart. He asked if we can remain best friends & begged he wouldnt loose me.
He finishd it with me on the phone. while he was away at uni & hasnt bothered to come home. I am upset with him that he hasnt come home and has promised he will come home next weekend as he doesnt have his Dj set next weekend. He feels bad for not coming back and said hes scared of coming home because at university hes away frm reality. he said 'what if I want you, but you dont want me?' & all these, and I told him its a win win situation, hes either my best friend or my boyfriend.
He told me hes confused because He wants to be with me because of who I am and how he feels about me. but doesnt because he doesnt know if it will be fair.

He is a lovely man and Id be the first to to say he was lying. He truly cares about me, but doesnt show how he feels much. He doesnt know what to say and pushes this to the back of his head.
At the moemtn we are 'seeing what happens', with us and thats ok by me. But I asked him to spend the time to talk to me today so I can sort myself out and hes happy to do that. I know the arguing is pushing us apart ( i have a temper and hes sensitive) .

What could I say ? What can I do? I really do want him back .

Well, the way it sounds, it seems like even he doesn't know what he wants. Talk to him first and see what he says. But hold your temper if you can.

Try not contacting him. that is what i am foidn, so far 3 days and he contacted me the first and he was a little jerky, but i ended it by not responding back at a him. let it be. I have read so much on this and i am sticking with no contact for three weeks, but i will reply to him if he does. NO Contact..try it iam . it is hard but if they want you they will come after you

don't let stresses get in the way. take the space, don't talk for a couple of weeks i know it sucks and it will hurt...

focus on yourself and spend time with friends and family. let him realize what he wants and he'll come back!
